Georgeson Botanical Garden Society
The Society was formed in 2007 to address the need for active support for the Georgeson Botanical Garden. The group hopes to unite volunteers and friends of the Garden through various fun, educational, and fundraising activities to support the various horticultural programs of the Garden.

Tea Party Meetings: Georgeson Botanical Garden classroom on Thursday, May 21 at 6 p.m. The committee hopes to meet weekly in June.
Gift Shop opens for the summer: June 1, 2009.
Grand Garden Party June 7, 2009, to help Jan Hanscom celebrate her retirement from UAF after more than 30 years of working as a biologist and horticulturist for a variety of programs from marine biology to the GBG.
Tea Party -theme: "Celebrating Statehood," June 28, 2009, 1-4 p.m. We are encouraging people to come in costume from all eras of Alaska's history. While costumes are encouraged, they are not required to attend and everyone is welcome!

Gift Shop closes for the season: August 31, 2009.
We are in need of a storage unit for items purchased for the Tea and Garden Faire. We are looking for a Conex trailer or another weatherproof unit to store at the GBG. If you have any information on this, please contact a board member or staff at the garden.
